why choose Redsail mini cnc router RS-3636?

Saturday, November 6th, 2010

In the cnc router market, there are many different types with different prices and quality. How to tell which one is good and which one is so so?—Its hard to say. But if you choose Redsail mini cnc router RS-3636, you will see the difference below:

1. we use casting body for the machine: many supplier just assemble it with some metal parts but Redsail use whole casting body for this mini router.  Its not heavy and can be used for long time without distortion; so this can higher the machine mechanical resolution.

And this body can make the machine keep working always for 24 hours but some others cant.

2. The mini router moving by table but not only spindle. Table moving can higher the resolution in a big step. This is not all the big machine can do.

3. we use 0.8kw for the machine. So if the price is too cheaper, also check the spindle power. Maybe its only 0.4kw.

4. We use USB connection now which is more convenient.

5. We use ballscrew and guideway for the cnc router  moving. So keep checking when you decide to buy—is this machine moved by guideway or by belt ? Belts does not have too much power to work long time and have good quality job.

6. Our spindle works together with the inverter, so please pay attention that do you find a invert when you decide to buy a router?

At last, we have experienced service and teachnical team. Pleaes also consider this when you decide to buy a machine.

Here is for you my friend.

Choose blade for cnc router

Saturday, July 17th, 2010

For cnc router, tools can be called the consumable products. First, everyday working will consume the blade–that is natual thing; second, when a starter work with the CNC router for working, it is easy to break the tools when practice.

We provide different tools with different function: some is professional for cutting, like 3D tools  here photo: CNC router tools

Some other tools are good for engraving on wood surface; some are good for smaller file; so what kind of tools you need depends on what kind of job you want to do.

Mini router blade is smaller that with higher resolution; but bigger blade is faster.

How to make money with Redsail CNC router

Friday, July 16th, 2010

Do you need a machine that cuts wood, plastic, or metal accurately and consistently? A CNC router table is ideal for making signs and other general routing jobs. These machines can also be used for engraving so there are multiple uses. It used to be that these machines were too cost prohibitive for home use and small shops but due to an increase in interest, there are more affordable models. If you check Redsail website, you will see different models according to different working sizes.

Here are some tips to choosing a CNC router that fits your needs and budget.

What projects are CNC routers ideal? They are for projects that would take too much time and craftsmanship to cost effectively accomplish. This includes elaborate designs and making inlays for metal. With CNC lettering, the designs will be smooth and accurate.

Software will allow you to program lettering and designs. Once you learn how to use the software these machines are easy to operate. A CNC router is perfect for details in furniture making and the results will be professional. They are also ideal for sign making so lettering is even, accurate and consistent.

Smaller machines are great for home use and run off a 120 volt standard outlet. The motors on these CNC routers are usually just 1 or 2 horsepower and are best suited for home workshops. These table top models are a fraction of the lower cost and can be a good return on investment if you sell furniture. That is why we make a mini router RS-3636.

If a new CNC router is out of your price range then consider purchasing a used CNC which can save you 50 percent or more. Make sure you do research before looking for a used machine. Don’t purchase one just because it’s a good deal; it will be wasted money if it won’t do what you need it to do. Older machines are lower in power than new ones but that shouldn’t be important for small workshops.

If you prefer more consumer confidence then consider buying a reconditioned machine from the manufacturer. Reconditioned machines are professionally inspected, worn parts are replaced and they are usually repainted to look new. Most come with a warranty so you can have some guarantee in case it needs repairs. Redsail cnc router warranty is 12 months which you will not worry about it.

Make sure you check on support for your equipment especially if you are unfamiliar with the machine. Many manufacturers help you with installation and even provide software training at little or no cost. Then you’ll need ongoing support so you can maintain your equipment and resolve any problems that come up. Also ensure that you get a manual for your equipment so you’ll have a reference at your fingertips.

How to make PCB —Part 2

Saturday, June 19th, 2010

Last time I showed you how the Redsail min cnc router work on PCB. That is a simple video show. Then lots of friends ask me how can we make it exaclty like what you did in the video?

Actually we need 2 steps except the one with cnc rotuer

1. make your file–those drawings in software Coppercam. We use it, but if you have good kind of software. We will be gald to know it.

2. after making this file well, save it as G-code. Some friends will feel strange, cause normally after making file ready, we need to import it in artcam or type 3 or Ucancam to make toolpath. But for making PCB with Coppercam, the importing is not necessary.

Then you can import the G-code into our cnc router  RS-3636.

P.S: Redsail now make all cnc routers with USB connection. That means, we only make a toolpath in artcam or type 3 or Ucancam then import it into the USB handle controller, then we can control the router with that handle.

If you want to knwo the details about the job, dont hesitate to contact Redsail.

what do you prefer?

Saturday, June 12th, 2010

As all we know, for a cnc router, we normally have two types of controller–one is PCI card type and the other is DSP handle type.

See Redsail mini router RS-3636, we use PCI card for it for quite long time; but its quite complicated because now people prefer USB for router working now. They think its convenient. Then if we have USB, why do we need PCI?

Everything has its good and bad side. DSP handle is convenient, but USB memory has limit memory, and so does the handle. So it will be very slow if we import a large file for big cnc router design. And its easy for PCI card.

But PCI card means you also need another software to support the whole working.

So what kind of machine you want to use, depends on what kind of job you want to do.

So what do you prefer when choosing a cnc router?
